At Life Fitness, we’re always looking to improve our products to fit what exercisers want and expect out of their workout experience. With the launch of our latest Discover  tablet consoles, Android users will no longer be left out. Elevation Series Discover SE and Discover SI Treadmills, Cross-Trainers, and Lifecycle Exercise Bikes will now have a mini-USB connector for Android and Blackberry compatibility. We were the first to bring Apple connectivity to the market and we will now offer those great features to Android users.

Are you a focused exerciser, or a distracted one? Me, I need distraction. I don’t want to be alone with my thoughts—I think too much. I need the TV on, earphones in, and possibly a book to scan during commercials. Then, put me in a gym where all the energy around me keeps me motivated.

Smartphones make it easier than ever to track our fitness and health routines. Here is a list of my favorite fitness apps that will make your workout more fun, more productive and more effective.

1. Lose It!

You will find this app on most of the top lifestyle app lists and for good reason. Lose It! is one of the best, fee apps to track your food intake and weight loss goals. Need reminders to log your food and exercise? You got it with this app.

2. Pinterest

Pinterest may not be your first go-to for health & fitness—but it should be! This app (and website) is a mecca for healthy recipes and workout tips. You can find something new every time you log on so there is no excuse to not vary up your workouts and eating habits.
