Fall 2013 Hammer Strength Sports Specific Clinics

Hammer_Clinic_Logo.gifThe Fall 2013 Hammer Strength Sports Specific Clinics have been announced, with a lineup of key speakers providing top-level lectures and instruction on strength and conditioning topics.  

This fall’s clinics will be basketball, wrestling, baseball and lacrosse-specific. The clinics are focused on the sport and the functional training that helps these athletes excel at all levels. The speakers are experts in their field and currently work with the athletes at the Collegiate, Pro and Private levels.

The clinics will be held in the following cities:

  • Plainfield, IN
  • Bethlehem, PA
  • Atlanta, GA
  • Long Island, NY

Some of the dynamic speakers on this year’s roster include:

Basketball

Jim Peal, Head Strength & Coordinating Coach, Butler University

JimPeal-Butler.jpgPeal is in his 10th season at Butler and his eighth as the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach. He is in charge of coordinating and overseeing the strength, flexibility and conditioning programs for all 19 sports at Butler.

 

 

 

Brian Clarke, Head Strength & Conditioning Coordinator, Noblesville High School

BrianClarke_Noblesville.jpgClarke is Head Strength & Conditioning Coordinator at Noblesville, charged with for developing and implementing pre/post season strength and conditioning programs for all athletic teams. Clarke has an extensive background in developing athletes and has taken part in a combined 10 state championships from his tenure at previous schools.

 

 

Wrestling

Zach Evan-Esh, Author, Founder, Underground Strength

ZachEvan-Esh_Undergrouind.jpgEvan-Esh is an author and founder of the Underground Strength Gym, and creator of the Underground Strength Certification program. He attributes his inspiration in training to the Golden Era of Bodybuilding.

 

 


Baseball

Gene Coleman, Professor and Chair of the Fitness and Human Performance Program, University of Houston-Clear Lake

GeneColeman-Houston.jpgColeman is at the University of Houston-Clear Lake and strength and conditioning consultant for the Texas Rangers. He was one of the first strength and conditioning coaches in MLB, serving as the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach for the Houston Astros from 1978-2012. He is a certified and registered strength and condition coach (NSCA; RSCC-E) and a Fellow in the American College of Sports Medicine (FACSM).

 

Chris Chase, Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach, University of Southern California Baseball

ChrisChase_USC.jpgAs assistant strength and conditioning coach, Chase plays a key role in working with the Trojan football team's offseason strength and conditioning program. He is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and member of the National Strength and Conditioning Association.

 

 

 

Lacrosse

Jason Gallucci,Strength Coach, Princeton

JasonGallucci_Princeton.jpgGallucci joined the Tiger athletic department in 2000. He currently works with the Princeton football, men's lacrosse, women's hockey, baseball and field hockey teams.

 

 

 

David VanDyke, Assistant Athletic Director for Speed, Strength & Conditioning, Stony Brook University

DavidVanDyke_StonyBrook.jpgVan Dyke is responsible for the mental and physical development of all 20 of Stony Brook intercollegiate programs. VanDyke's efforts have helped Stony Brook win 13 conference championships across sports such as baseball, men's basketball, football, men's lacrosse and men's soccer.
