It's All in the Stride

Life Fitness Introduces New X8 Elliptical Cross-Trainer With Electronic Adjustable Stride

DENVER, Aug. 6, 2009 – Life Fitness understands the importance of comfort, variety and multi-use when it comes to equipment for the home, that's why the company has introduced the new X8 Elliptical-Cross Trainer, featuring Electronic Adjustable Stride technology. With just a touch of a button, users can change the setting to better fit their body type after another exerciser has just used the machine.

Exercisers can easily adjust their stride length (18 – 24 inches) in 1-inch increments to work different muscle groups – shorter strides to concentrate on quads, and longer strides to work glutes. The conveniently located "Activity Zone" makes stride length and resistance level changes a breeze with easy-access controls.

From the unique CoachZone™ Activity Zone, which acts like a personal trainer to keep exercisers motivated, users can see what muscle group their targeting during their workout on the bright LCD screen. Different exercises are provided, like the Arm Toner and Glute Toner Workout Enhancements that direct exercisers into certain workout motions, to help tone the upper and lower body. A separate timer breaks down the workout, counting down the minutes remaining on a given motion. It also provides easily accessible resistance level changes.

"The X8 was created with the home exerciser in mind, as the Electronic Adjustable Stride length not only lets them target different muscle groups, but also allows them to find the stride length that is most comfortable for them," said John Stransky, president of Life Fitness. "Plus, its design is aesthetically enhanced to fit the environments of homes today."

Keeping comfort in mind, the X8 Elliptical Cross-Trainer incorporates the same shock absorption technology that makes Life Fitness treadmills the best in the world. The FlexPedalTM shock absorption system provides flexible cushioning to increase foot comfort during workouts.

The new X8 Elliptical Cross-Trainer comes with the choice of either a Basic or Advanced Workouts Console that features a sharp LCD display with crisp, easy-to-read graphics and text. The Basic Workouts Console includes five exercise programs, while the Advanced Workouts Console provides the variety of 10 programs and the ability to create two user profiles for households with more than one exerciser. The Advanced Workouts Console also includes a wireless heart rate monitor.

Manufactured Suggested Retail Pricing for the X8 Elliptical Cross-Trainer is $3,999 with the Basic Workouts Console and $4,299 with the Advanced Workouts Console. Visit www.lifefitness.com or call 1-800-634-8637 for more information.
