ZachZenner.pngThis year at the CSCCa National Conference Master Strength and Conditioning Coaches Dinner and Ceremony, Hammer Strength was proud to announce the second annual Hammer Strength All American Athletes of the Year:

Rafaelle Souza of University of Mississippi

Zach Zenner of South Dakota State University

In partnership with the CSCCa, this award has been designed to honor the most outstanding college athletes who exemplify the best of what it takes, on and off the field, to become an elite athlete. Strength and conditioning coaching staff from various institutions around the nation collaborated to select one male and one female athlete to represent their school in being considered for the award.

Female winner Rafaelle Souza of the University of Mississippi has established herself as one of the top forwards in the Southeastern Conference (SEC). Souza, originally from Brazil and knowing only a few words of English, was able to become a two-time SEC Scholar Athlete of the Year. Her dedication to improving went beyond the classroom; she is the all-time Rebel leader in goals and points after just three seasons at the University of Mississippi. Souza’s coaches nominated her for the Hammer Strength All-American Athlete Award for her leadership and hard-working attitude. She currently holds a 3.77 GPA.

Male winner Zach Zenner of South Dakota State University is an exceptional student-athlete on and off the field. His dedication to training and superior work ethic earned him a starting role in his sophomore year. Zenner became only the second Division I-AA running back to rush for over 2,000 yards in consecutive seasons. Because of this outstanding achievement, Zenner was selected for six different All-America teams following the 2013 season. He maintains a 3.85 GPA as pre-medicine major.

Rafaelle and Zach are superior performers who exemplify the best of what it takes to become fierce competitors. They exhibit tremendous work ethic and leadership skills and motivate their teammates to excel and perform at their best.

Congratulations to Rafaelle, Zach and all of this year’s Hammer Strength All Americans:
