More Hotels Join Nutrition, Fitness Fray

It's tough to stick to a diet and exercise plan when traveling, but there is an increasing amount of help out there.
We already knew that hotel executives are starting to pay more attention to the fitness options of its guests. But it’s a really good thing that hotels — such as the Trump Hotels' new Trump Wellness concept — are including a much needed nutrition component as well. There is no lack of access to greasy, fried, fat and sugar-laden foods on the road, which can be overwhelming. With these healthier food choices, at least you can feel better about skipping a workout in favor of the beach after eating a nutritious meal.
The Trump Wellness concept has two plans that focus specifically on eating well. With the Nourish program, guests are provided healthy in-room options that include vegan, organic and gluten-free dining. The Quick Bites programs offer those options with delivery guranteed in fifteen minutes or less, and is designed to be taken on the go. The fitness component of the program includes exercise equipment guests can use in their rooms, or a fully equipped and upgraded exercise room in a common area of the hotel.
Hyatt Hotels is boasting a revamping of its menu that encourages guests to get energized with “perfectly portioned” meals. Many of its locations have 24-hour state-of-the-art fitness facilities for guest workouts.
Sheraton Hotels and Resorts has a Color Your Plate program to educate guests about the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle. All menu items feature colorful, key nutrients from fruits and vegetables with a helpful breakdown of nutrition facts. The hotel's fitness program also offers workouts designed by industry experts from Core Performance.
