SCHILLER PARK, IL Sep 10, 2009 – European Network of Academic Sports Services (ENAS) has named Life Fitness as the exclusive equipment sponsor for the second year in a row. ENAS promotes and develops sport for all in higher education, and encourages communication and mobility between academic athletic services across Europe. With nearly 80 members, ENAS was founded in 1997 to exchange ideas and experiences among different countries in the fields of sports, recreation, health, culture and education.
"Life Fitness is very proud to be selected as the exclusive fitness equipment sponsor for the second year in a row," said Frank van de Ven, vice president of Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) for Life Fitness. "Encouraging fitness and health among our youth is a priority for Life Fitness."
Life Fitness has over 30 years experience in the fitness industry, including many successes from the university sector in both the United States and across Europe. Through the partnership, ENAS members will have access to advice on how to engage with students, staff and the wider community using the latest concept in facility design - the Journey™, a new way to design a fitness facility by grouping equipment together based on exercise goals. Life Fitness offers a wide range of products, providing ENAS members with equipment options that appeal to a variety of exercisers.
"As awareness of the global childhood obesity epidemic continues to grow, physical fitness activity in an academic environment is becoming a staple," said Neil Mosley, vice president of ENAS. "Working with a renowned fitness supplier such as Life Fitness, which can offer our members anything from entry-level equipment such as the Circuit Series, to performance-oriented machines for the serious athletes, like Hammer Strength, means that we are providing the very best to our future generations."
