All New ICG® Connect System Brings Experiential Fitness to Group Cycling
ICG Connect’s enhanced digital content, new app features and hardware create an interactive, connected experience for every class member
FRANKLIN PARK, Ill., August 16, 2021 – ICG® (Indoor Cycling Group), a specialist provider and award-winning market leader in indoor cycling, introduced today new additions to its ICG Connect System as part of its growing digital ecosystem of indoor cycling offerings. ICG Connect is an all-in-one multimedia solution that brings experiential fitness to group cycling by integrating real-time performance data via riders’ connected bikes with video-based programming. The latest upgrades combine classic indoor cycling with technology and entertaining content, allowing instructors to deliver more immersive group classes.
ICG Connect integrates with ICG’s digital ecosystem, utilizing Coach by Color® as the foundation to create an interactive group experience. Users’ bikes are synced with the instructor‘s tablet and the large in-studio screen – which all mirror the same performance metrics, user interface and programming to make coaching and following instruction easy. In every class, exercisers are challenged to ride for, with and against each other to meet the group target, win team battles, and achieve personal bests. Using the ICG app, exercisers can also track and share their individual performance results after every class.
“ICG Connect works seamlessly with the complete ICG ecosystem to create an engaging and social experience for exercisers, the foundation for successful group training,” said Mike Michels, Senior Product Manager, ICG. “The immersive and interactive qualities of this interconnected experience drive greater training engagement for both exercisers and instructors in a group cycling session. With the most recent upgrades to ICG Connect, we are helping improve studio attendance with invigorating class content to meet the training needs of all members, so our customers can continue to stay ahead of the competition.”
Enhanced ICG Connect functionality, apps and hardware give instructors more ways to engage and challenge riders with versatile class formats – from visualization of training data to immersing the class in breathtaking landscapes or competing in a velodrome. The new floor standing tablet enables instructors to easily interact with participants, view performance metrics and adjust class programming.
Instructors can also choose from three ICG Connect apps with new features to elevate the class experience. ICG Connect Ride displays detailed group and individual performance data to motivate riders in visual formats, including over 150 new forward motion road videos, and competitive classes, like Race and Pro mode. ICG Tour Coach features over 500 scenic courses that use forward motion video to deliver simulation, interaction, and remote participation capabilities. With ICG World Tour, instructors can create their own music playlists and ride choreography or select pre-choreographed rides to courses from around the globe.
