ABOUT THE YMCA
YMCA's origins in Rye began in 1914 in the community. Documents indicate that planning for a Rye YMCA began at the end of 1913, with much activity taking place in the early part of 1914.
THE CHALLENGE EXPANDING AND GROWING
The YMCA stands for youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. They wanted to offer something that was progressive, competitive in the market and opened the doors to a larger demographic.
THE PROCESS A TRUSTED PARTNERSHIP
Life Fitness has been a longstanding partner of the Rye YMCA, a single-branch association in downtown Rye, NY. They were looking to expand, post-pandemic, to provide more space for their members. This led to the purchase and renovation of a building adjacent to the YMCA parking log. The plan was to increase from one group exercise room to four and greatly expand the type of the programming they offered. The plan included HIIT classes to compete with local boutique fitness clubs.

THE SOLUTION FINDING THE PERFECT LAYOUT
Life Fitness worked alongside Gro Development to bring the Rye YMCA's ideas for a HIIT studio to life. Life fitness Facility Design Specialists met with Gro Development weekly to review concepts and create layouts that worked in the space. The result was a room that includes SYNRGY180, HD Air Bikes, HD SPARCs and Life Fitness Studio Accessories.
