Our Life Fitness team worked diligently to create floor plans and equipment mixes that reflected what would be the most beneficial for these facilities. We were able to place significant pieces into the facility that included racks, free weights, cables¸ and plate-loaded.
The Challenge A Demand For Strength
The Pierce and Kitsap Counties YMCA Family wanted to perform a full refresh on their facilities. They had a few challenges they wanted to overcome.
The team noticed a trend in which members continuously monopolized free weights and racks, leading to a notable increase in demand for strength products. Additionally, to address the lack of increasing memberships, particularly among Millennials and Gen Z, these facilities recognized the importance of aligning with current strength trends. This demand ultimately led to a refresh of the facilities.
The Result A Refreshed & Modern Facility
The YMCA staff has received outstanding feedback from their members, who are enthusiastic about the new variety of equipment. This addition has not only energized the current members but also positioned the YMCA to compete effectively with newer, trendier gyms. The initiative has successfully met the diverse needs of their members, resulting in a notable increase in usage among teens and young adults. All facilities have experienced a membership growth ranging from 5% to 13%. Additionally, existing members have shown renewed interest, with one facility reporting a 27% increase in member scans.
