Toe Taps

Toe Taps focus on building strength and endurance of the calf muscles, but also challenge numerous other muscles of the ankle and intrinsic muscles of the foot. This is a good exercise to build balance and coordination.

  1. Start barefoot, and stand up on your toes of both feet with one leg in front and the other behind you.
  2. Then, shift all of your weight to the back foot by pushing down and forward with the front foot until it is off the ground.
  3. Return to the starting position, while remaining up on the toes of both feet.
  4. Alternate the right and left foot, such that now the opposite foot is behind you, then perform the exercise again.

If necessary, perform near a wall for additional support.
